Volunteer Opportunity: Riparian Stewardship Assistant

Location: Medicine Hat, AB
Commitment: Flexible (5–10 hours/month, seasonal opportunities available)
Reports To: Project Coordinator

Overview:
Join SEAWA’s volunteer team and help protect the health of our local watersheds! As a Riparian Stewardship Assistant, you’ll participate in community restoration projects, learn about native plant species, and assist with hands-on environmental work along creeks, rivers, and wetlands in the South East Alberta region.

Responsibilities:

Assist SEAWA staff during riparian restoration and cleanup events.

Help plant and maintain native vegetation.

Participate in invasive species removal and habitat monitoring.

Educate community members about watershed protection and sustainable land use.

Support data entry or event logistics when needed.

Qualifications:

Interest in environmental conservation, biology, or outdoor work.

Ability to work as part of a team and follow safety protocols.

Comfortable working outdoors in varying weather conditions.

No experience required—training and supervision provided.
